NEWS and UPDATES
- I am awaiting word on a callback I attended last weekend. Cross your fingers, please!
- Opening April 24, 2025, I will be appearing as Terence and as Bernard Warde in Southbank Theatre Company's production of RED VELVET by Lolita Chakrabarti. The production will be directed by Donna McFadden, and we will be performing at the Shelton Auditorium on the Butler University South Campus. Tickets are on sale now HERE.
- On June 20, 2025 I will be directing a staged reading of HELL'S BELLE: THE UNBELIEVABLY TRUE TALE OF INDIANA'S FIRST SERIAL KILLER. This brand-new play by Amalia Howard is one of the three finalists in Southbank Theatre Company's "Making History" playwriting contest. Come to the staged readings of all three finalists over the weekend of June 20-22 at the Phoenix Theatre Cultural Center. Get a history lesson, have some laughs, and support new plays and playwrights!
- Also in June 2025, I will be appearing on stage with a marvelous project with Cryptid Entertainment. I'm very excited for this one--keep watching this space for details!
- In August 2025, I'll be taking part in the Indianapolis Theatre Fringe Festival in (probably just one performance) of Director's Cut, a unique look into the process of directing a scene. I'll be working with one or more other actors and a director to craft a scripted scene on the fly.
"Doug Powers could command a leading role on any stage in the country."
